What type of suspension has it got.

If it has relatively short leaf springs which are highly curved and contain many leaves (9, I think) which controls an independent swing arm then there are some things to watch out for.

Have you tried the Jayco Owners Club forum. You should get feed back more specific to Jayco there.

Headbolt,

We owned a Jayco Freedom 16.5 Outback for 10 years. Not the same van but pretty close. We never had a problem. It handled bad dirt roads and the rough bits across the paddock down to the creek. We never had a problem and loved it. We did however avoid bad corrugations. I don't think they would stand up to that for long although we spoke to other owners that had gone everywhere and they seemed to be happy.
