Last month I ordered a map called "
Simpson Desert trip planning map" , the map arrived and is full of information that I need for a future trip .

Enjoy we did the trip last year with 4 x vehicles and it was great.
4x4 was medium rating but scenery was awsome. Just take your time and have a look around. Very little water out there. I was also surpised at the lack of traffic we went in June and passed 1 vehicle each day over the 4 days we crossed.
Not sure which direction you are going but if coming from the West beware of 4x4's crossing from the East on Big Red as lots of vehicles have a play there.
In saying that
UHF Radio comms was gold for safety.
We met a 4x4 club of 12 vehicles coming the opposite direction and having a lot of fun.

Thanks Will, West to East and at the moment, and on my own. I am doing the trip that way to get to the National Gathering. There may be others that would like to cross with me on the way to
Trilby Station...
