Does anybody have some info on the condition of Dargo High Plains Road? Looking to travel thru there in late March 2014. Any comments on which direction is best to travel - north to south or south to north - or even if that's a consideration.

...... and if you're towing, make sure your braking system is working 100%.
If South to North be prepared for a long haul!

I thought the road was in a east to west direction.

Michaeljp - Maybe you are holding your map the wrong way around.

In March, I am doing South to North towing my 16' Bushtracker van.

I know a guy who has chugged up there with a bigger van than mine, so I think if I take it slowly everything will be OK.

Check the fire situation. A lot of the roads are closed at the moment due to fires and still might be in March

We drove "south to north" a few weeks ago and it was fine - albeit very dusty - some cattle on the road so be aware of that !!! otherwise it's just a good dirt road, enjoy your trip.

the road is in the background - we were checking out one of our old camping spots...
