Hi all, I am after a paint code for a 1984 FJ60. It is white in colour. I have looked up a generic paint code book and found 8 different codes for whites used by toyota in 1984. I'm sure this would be easier if I had a 'poo brown' one.

I don't know about your model specifically, but no one can give you the correct paint code. As you you say, the book mentions 8 different codes, your model may not have neccaserilly come out in one shade of white, therefore someone with another white FJ60 may give you their code, but be different to yours.

I guess you do not have the compliance plate any more, which is the normal place for the paint code. Some cars have them listed on seperate plates in the engine bay and the odd few have them around the door sill, try searching there. The Holts duplicolour range of spraycan touch up paints are failry close to the colour on the lid, so if you can park at the auto shop and ask to take out each Tojo white, you probably will match. If you don't want a spray can, do that anyway, then cross reference the code in the book and you should get the code..

good luck

The paint code should be on the Japanese Complience Plate
This is the one that does not have raised lettering(raised lettering is the Australian plate)
From memory the Paint Code for White in the 60 Series was 033 or 045 (i am thinking 033 but i could be wrong)

This site has the colour codes for 60 series and although it is a US site it should help. There is also a very useful section that decodes the serial numbers, trim, engine, gearbox and axle numbers.
