This's my first post on this
forum and I would like to introduce myself. My name is Dan and I'm from
Perth (WA).
Been visiting this web site earlier on several occasions, great source of info for trip preparations. Finally decided to
sign up for the
membership.
Love to travel the outback remote areas and yes I'm currently driving one of those love-or-hate FJ Cruisers. Among lot of small trips, last year we did GCR (WA's side) on the way to Uluru, Kings Canyon and Alice S. It was an awesome trip that left us now wanting more. May post some pics in the blog area later.
Found this place as a good source of credible reviews for 4wd and camping gear and car's access. Actually made a couple of purchases base on info found here. No regrets so far.
Cheers,
Dan

G' day Dan, it doesn't matter what you drive, I'm pretty sure the common ground here is getting outback and seeing the back yard. Cheers, Kanga..

Dan, welcome aboard man. Been seeing quite a few of the FJ's fully kitted up and out there on the roads less travelled these days. Pity Toyota aren't thinking of a diesel for them. Managed to
test drive one around the
Flinders Ranges when they were first released. I was quite impressed and the good wife is currently considering one as her "weekend getaway" drive (mind you I think she is besotted with the Jeep).

Sounds like you've already judged the value of the site. There's a wealth of experience and knowledge here all for the asking.
Cheers and welcome.

Thanks Mick. I remember seeing this review before I purchased
mine. Great write up. After driving this car for 2.5 years (as a daily drive too) I agree with the most stated in the review.
In 2012 I crossed Gammon, Flinders and
Gawler ranges and couldn't fail this car as a touring machine.

Hi Dan
I saw lots of FJ Cruisers while on a road trip for 3 months in the USA.
They are very popular.
Cheers
Pete

Not surprised Pete. Toyota sold them a lot for past 7 years. Pity they decided to discontinue them in US as of this year.
