Hi I am looking for someone to travel with me from 19/7/14
Wollongong across the Simpson in a convoy of 6 cars. Leave the convoy at
Birdsville 28/7/14 and travel via the Plenty Hwy to Alice to pickup a tagalong with Great Divide Tours to the
Kimberley 2/8/14 25 days. (The Tagalong is at my cost.) $4990 per car and finishes at
Broome 27/8/14. Then travel down to the Western most point on the mainland (
Steep Point ) and
Monkey Mia. Then travel the Gunbarrel Hwy and
Great Central Road to Ayres
Rock. Then down to Finke and Mt Dare. Across the Simpson a different way this time going via
Walkers Crossing to
Innamincka. Proceed to Byron Bay the eastern most point on the mainland. Therefore crossing via the most direct route from west to east I can find on the 17/9/14,
home to
Wollongong 19/9/14.
I have a fully equipped 2012 Landcruiser Sahara with hot shower. I would expect the passenger to share the cost of Fuel, food, accommodation and the driving. There are also Plane and Helicopter flights that are optional on the
Kimberley part of the trip.
I would consider picking someone up at
Birdsville, Alice or
Broome.
I am an easy going 52 year old male that likes most music and 4wding. I have people that wish they could go on this trip but have no time. Leaves an opportunity for someone else.
Regards Mitch

Mitch, if someone does end up taking up your offer you may need to consider that you will be living in each others pockets the entire time. Small issues will become big issues and the trip of a life time could become a trip from hell. You're more optimistic than me to consider this so good luck with it.

I think you have a very valid point but it can also be lonely and tiring travelling all the ks 'by yourself. I will obviously checking any candidate as carefully as I can. It is possible I may have different people for each leg of the trip.

I have found someone Greg Nolan from
Brisbane experienced solo traveller and has travelled across the Simpson twice and
Cape York but hasn't been to the west or Ayres
Rock. So great all round.
Thanks for the good wishes.
Regards Mitch.
