Thanks to everyone who answered my query on the road into the bungle bungles.
Next question , we had intended going into
El Questro but are now receiving negative reports about the place. We would be
camping. I would appreciate some feedback from anyone who has camped there recently.

Shorty - El Q is
well worth the effort to visit. When we were there the road in and around the lease was fairly rough but manageable.
We prefer
bush camping to caravan parks and at El Q we paid a little extra and camped at one of the many isolated spots right next to the river. You are far enough away from your neighbours that you can't hear or see them.
Our spot was magic as there was a huge shady tree which we set our
camp up under and it provided heavy shade for the whole day which was a bonus due to it being bloody hot 38-40 c that year in july!
Cheers P Guy

You can't be in the
Kimberley and not see
El Questro or
Emma Gorge.
The Private
campsite that we stayed at was excellent but beware they're not all as good as each other. Up to you whether or not you enjoy it but if not -
well you can always move on I say.
Zebedee Springs is
well worth the visit alone. Forget about
Champagne Springs or Falls whatever it is, that would be the only advice I would give you. The rest of it was a damned good experience in my book.
Saturday Nights around the Station campfire is pretty good when the cowboys bring out the guitars. Of course we'd been there about 4 days by that stage and welcomed the distraction from
camping.
As a sideline I'd recommend you do a day trip to
Emma Gorge (excellent place for lunch or an evening meal).
Hope this helpsLive the life you love -

that's what they refer to themselves as at EQ but if you would prefer station hands then I'm with you all the way fella.
Trust me Bob - I'm a long way from Americanised, although I was shagging a fomer Miss America finalist in San Diego for a while during the summer of 93. Does that count?
That's another story though and I'm grateful to you for taking me back there.Live the life you love -

Well worth a visit. Main problem at the moment is that the toilet/shower facilities seem to be getting overloaded in peak times. Obviously not designed for the numbers of visitors they are getting.
Also is expensive. While booking into the
camping area I enquired about some of the 4wd tracks. The girl said "you'll need a high clearance, heavy duty 4wd". When she presented me with the account she said "you'll need a high clearance, heavy duty credit card"
(Not really but that's what I thought). ;)

I found the 4WD tracks to be quite tame but clearance would be helpfulLive the life you love -
