Comment: Buying a 4WD

Am looking at a family 4x4 sub 30K in WA. Have looked at the diesel Landcrusier, Prado, Hilux, Triton, Patrol etc. Any suggestions or experiences with these models which would be affordable for a family of 4. Much prefer the diesel option. Not towing anything. Would just like to show the kids the great outdoors. I anticipate good reviews on the landcruiser, but hope that there is an option to upgrade the tape deck to provide mp3/bluetooth functionality. Thanks folks

Hi Todd
100 series HDJ100R would be my pick, then fit a Alpine stereo model no. CDE-103EBT.
It has Bluetooth, ipod, usb and cd functions.

A diesel Pajero is a decent machine in that price bracket? More power than most of the others.

I'd be more inclined to look for a 4x4 around the $20K mark. Guaranteed you will need the other $10K for replacement/repairs and some sort of modifications, even a for a 4wd course.

and recovery gear.
Like many people entering the 4wd market, it soon turns into a addiction. We are very lucky to have such a magnificent back yard.
Have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
