What's the name of the rd Uluru to wa border
Just that I'm trying to find it listed on the NT road condition website to see if it's open and condition
Seems WA side it's listed as CDR ( Central desert rd) but NT side it changes name
On the NT there's a rd listed as Tjukaruru rd but can't find any listing for condition report
Thanks

If you go to Uluru in Places and follow the road west, past the Olgas, you will see that the road on that map is called the Great Central Road.

Hi

GCR only goes west as far as Docker River, just east of the border...from then on its shown on the maps I have as Tjukururu Road, though as I mention below it is referred to as Docker River Road on ExplorOz road conditions page. Nether Tjukururu Road or Docker River Road are listed on the NT webpage posted by OP.

Cheers
Greg

Hi

NT section is referred to as Docker River Road on the ExplorOz road condition page HERE

Doesn't appear to be listed on the NT webpage under any name that I can see.

Cheers

G'day Albany Nomads, that section is officially Tjukaruru Rd. Also reffered to as Docker river rd, and often still reffered as part of the Great Central rd, but also officially part of the Outback way...
How's that for confusion? .. lol
It can be found on NT road conditions as Tjukaruru Rd.

Cheers

Hi

Can't see Tjukaruru Road listed on the NT site - which road condition website are you referring to?

Hi Greg, you probably can't find it listed as there are no current warnings for the Rd.

Arrhhh - that makes sense, though showing a road as open would be helpful.

If that's the case that there's no warnings why does our exploroz site show that docker river rd between Uluru and wa/ nt border is closed due to flooding ?

Hi

ExplorOz site states Docker River Road conditions "Updated: 13/03/2014 9:33:37 AM"

That's one week ago..so maybe its no longer closed.

Not sure how the ExplorOz system works/source of info/how often updated.

Cheers
