does anybody know if the road from broken hill to the border past tibooburra bitumen or dirt?.

Around 50% is sealed, but in various sections through to Tibooburra.

That would be the Silver City Hwy. It is a mixture of dirt and sealed road.
The road to the border from Tibooburra is dirt.

Marty the road is just woefull !we were down to 25 kays in spots and its %75 dirt and very rough .John

Theres ya problem. At 25 kph you will feel every bump, pothole, corrugation, pebble and grain of sand. 100kph is easily doable on that road and makes the ride so much better as the car skips across the top, not falling into holes.Cheers

Hi Marney, I would have thought that travelling at 100kph with tyre pressure down would be a bit dangerous, and if you are still running full pressure then that is why the corrugations are there in the first place. Just my opinion Cheers Ray

Its a hard road most of the way, no need to drop pressures or speed. The trucks would do more damage than cars in that area. Cheers

As always the condition of the gravel road depends on when it was last graded.

Last June there were decent stretches of blacktop being added btwn BH and Tib. The the 'highway' north of Tib was a one lane track when I was there last.
