When we were in Tassie a while back we saw some light-weight gum boots (very similar to the Croc ones but a hell of a lot cheaper) in a local hardware store. Unfortunately they didn't have my size. Specifically after the light ones for around
camp.
Been looking ever since but can't find them anywhere. Anyone happen to know where they are sold (apart from at Crocs stores).

Krooz,
Best mud boots I've ever had were a pair of good quality, ankle length, skin diving boots. Light on the feet, zip closure on side, and in the notorious, wet Qld black soil, picked up hardly an ounce of mud. We used them while repairing floodgates on the Diamantina River. Being lightweight, you didn't knock up quite as easily, carrying a boot covered in mud and silt.
Don't think they'd be too good where you were handling heavy items.....wouldn't be much foot protection!!!
Bob.
