Hi all
I had a Tekonsha Electric brake control unit fitted to my Prado last week. The Auto Elec fitted it so it sits horizontal. Is there any reason why I cant turn the unit 45 degrees upward so that it sits more flush with the dash. As it sits at present, I am for every banging my knee on it.
hope I have explained it good enough.
Thanks
Jason

Ask the Auto Electrician for the instructions that came with the controller (or
check their web site).
Yes you can angle the controller but you need to adjust the left hand knob which adjusts the pendulum to compensate. Once set I leave this alone but do tend to fine tune the righthand knob depending on conditions.
If you need help obtaining the instructions get back to me and I'll see if I can find
mine.
Cheers Bob L.

As Bob says - it's all in the pendulum.
Get that wrong and you'll stop in a great hurry - or not at all :) :)
My unit is installed similar to yours to stop"barking" the knees.
Its on about a 45° angle - but the pendulum control is LEVEL.
