On the scrounge for a new site. Looking at heading out for a few days with my boys over Easter. Our normal trips are 4-5 hrs from home, but we are looking for something a bit closer this time.
We like bush walking, fishing and generally being outdoors. Fully self contained so having facilities is a luxury not a necessity. Thought of the Watagans as it is so close but no fishing and I have heard the yahoo's spoil it.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I would suggest Broke is worth some consideration. It is a free camp about half hour away from you, there is great walks but not about the fishing, there is a stream near by.

Easter.....water.....camping....I think everyone in Australia is looking for the same spot over Easter !!

Broke....alright, Myall River Camp......great spot...will be busy...on the river...get in early, Ferndale Park.....by the river...same again...get in early to beat the crowd,

I live on the central coast and if I knew of many good spots close to home, I wouldn't go away so much myself ??

Thanks for your replies. Looking at either Ferndale or a place called Finchley, just south of Wollombi. We are not going until the Easter Monday. Has anyone been to either of these places after the Easter long weekend?? Have the masses dispersed by then?

Thanks,

Jason
