I did a thread in March 2013 outlining my planned trip anticlockwise around Australia on a motorbike with 3 friends.
Good news is dates have been set and rough guide of where we are going is done.
One group is leaving
Coffs Harbour June 29, then riding to meet up with on teh NSW Central Coast and from there planned stops will be:
EDEN,
Torquay, do Great Ocean Rd, Mt Gambie, Walkfield,
Port Augusta,
Kimba,
Streaky Bay--teh Nullabor,
Norseman,
Albany, Margaret River,
Busselton,
Monkey Mia, up to
Broome, across to
Katherine, down to
Tennant Creek, across to Mt Isa, Longreah,
Emerald, Esk,
Surfers paradise,
Coffs Harbour and then
home...
Just saying if you see 4 riders (one will be the famous Tex O'Grady and his dog Bundy) and our support van, please wave and say Hi, we are also collecting money for a charity--"Keep Sam Safe" for a
young guy that is trying to get an assistance dog--so far we have raised $5K, but need to double this to get him the dog he needs--
We are riding a variation of bikes, Triumph Tiger 800XC, Kawasaki KLR650, Suzuki GSX650r and a Motor Guzzi Stevio..so we will be easily recognised--plus might be wearing "onesies" to raise some $$$ along the way.
Thanks again and hope to see some of you along the way...

Good luck with the trip -I reckon you will have a sore bum by the end of it :-)
Can I suggest that you call in at Hamlin Pool on the way to
Monkey Mia- you will see the sign saying Old Telegraph Station (
well worth a few minutes to go through) and "Stromatolites" - a bit of very ancient life that you can see.
Great spot to
camp for the night - grass and meals and a beer PLUS a nice big new swimming pool
Trish (the owner) is a great lady who will make you feel at
home
NOTE: This is NOT the Hamlin Pool
Camp Ground

Those digital watches are a bugger aren't they? No good for judging noon either.

G'day, served with Tex many years ago, do you have a web site where one can donate? Or do you know if Tex is going to be in
Holbrook for ANZAC Day? Thanks in advance, Sully

Muzman, thanks for the info and links for Tex, but when I try to email Tex, I get an error message, not a bounce, it won't let me send an email to him. Weird. Thanks once again.

Good luck with the trip Muzman
I did the east coast part of the trip 44 years ago on my own on a small Honda. Had a ball with the people I met. Slept on peoples front lawns on regular occasions.

Thanks Muzbry, yes planning on staying in pubs/van parks for teh first week and then
camp out while we go across the Nullabor and through WA/NT and outback QLD.
I got friends in
Busselton,
Perth and
Katherine that have offered us shelter for teh night...
We aim to stop and look at a lot of things along teh way, but if anyone has any tps on things to see or NOT to see that would be great too!.
Thankfully the support car is carrying our bags so teh bikes wont carry much except some spare oil, coolant, drinking water, basic tools, maps, 1st aid kit and tyre repair kit....
