Hi everyone,

Looking at installing a boost gauge on the lux and unsure where the reading is usually taken from. Someone mentioned to me a blank spot on the Christmas tree it can be taken from? Can anyone shed some light for me?

Cheers

Any suitable location between the Turbo and the cylinder head will work, as you are only measuring the engine inlet pressure. If there is a christmas tree on the inlet manifold then use it if you can.
Hope this helps.

Thank you Athol. Excuse my ignorance but what exactly is a Christmas tree in regard to the inlet manifold? Is it a series of ports to enable sensors and the like? What does it look like?

Thanks again.

What is commonly referred to as a Christmas Tree in automotive terms is a part that is screwed into the engine at some point (in this case the inlet manifold )and it makes one drilling into that part available for multiple connections. In this case it could be the original tapping for some vacuum operated component where the Christmas Tree has only been opened up (by removal of a nipple) for a single, or a number of different components.
Often they are used for the vacuum supply to a brake booster, and also the vacuum supply to the air conditioner or similar.

Hope that helps
