Heading into the Flinders in September, considering leaving via the Martins Well rd to meet the Frome Downs to Yunta rd and hence to the Barrier Hwy. Any thoughts on this option?

Hi, normally this is an easy drive and, being a local, one I do recommend. It is however essentially a dry weather road in some parts so you will need to keep an eye on the weather nearer the time. Exploroz Road conditions reports will cover that area. I would plan accordingly. Should be a good trip.
Too little time in the bush!

All OK graded gravel roads unless washed out due to recent rain.
Some great ruins and a mine to explore at Waukaringa.

There is another interesting diversion south of the Barrier Highway from Yunta via Panaramatee to Manna Hill.

Cheers,

Normally a good road. At the moment all are closed due to recent heavy rains but by September you would expect to have the graders have fixed any issues. Just keep an eye on the Outback Road Closures report for SA
