Free camps or cheap caravan parks around Brisbane.

Hi guys. Just checked into show grounds in lawnton north of British after booking and telling them what I had. I'm all set up and got told I will have to move every two days so I don't kill the grass as I have a soft floor camper. Bit reluctant to pay 20 bucks a night to do that. Can't see much in camps 7 or wikicamps. Anyone help me with somewhere to stay. I don't need power. I have to stay in area to pick someone up at airport next Monday. Thanks.

Have a look at Marburg. It is about 45 min out of Brissy on the road to Toowoomba.

Give them a call, but unfortunately the show is on this weekend (2nd/3rd May 14), any other time it is a good option.
Give them a call, they might be able to point you to somewhere handy. Laidly is a bit further out but not too far.

get out of Brisbane and come back on Monday, there's plenty of nicer places to be IMHO. out the back of Beaudesert is a range of spots to stay, Darlington Park and Stinson Park for example, or even look at Canungra showgrounds or Sharp Park.

Ha. Thanks guys. Yeah get out of Brisbane. I like that. I will give them a go. Cheers. Not sure why forum put that article about free camping on here. I'm happy to pay but it takes a bit to set up and pack up a camper trailer every 2 days lol.

Good camping ground at Donnybrook, on the Pumicestone passage opposite Bribie Island. Straight run down the highway to the Airport. Reasonably cheap last time we stayed there.

Hi Kirk
be sure to make allowances for major delays if needing to get to the airport any time around peak hour traffic times.
cheers

Thanks sue. Yeah I know. Traffics as bad as Perth. I told her if I'm not there she just have to wait. I believe the new airport pick up road is a bit of a pain to.

Kirk,

Our daughter has picked us up a couple of times @ Brisbane airport, and she uses a carpark just to north of the Qantas terminals. It's never been anywhere near full, so no stress looking for a spot.

When you travel in on access road from highway, near the airport you come to a set of lights, with about 4 "choices" of which way to go. Think you turn left here, then almost immediately right, into parking area. Called short term parking. Think there is still short term parking just behind where all the rentals are too.

Lot better than trying to get a park in the drop-off place.

Bob.

Seen it all, Done it all.
Can't remember most of it.
