Hey Can I get in on this as well. Another vote for Howard Springs.

We don't tow but we have stayed there twice and have been happy with the place both times.

We have stayed at Free Spirit and were most impressed - very good facilities and at least three pools, cafe/restaurant etc. we wold definitely stay there again over Howard Springs where we have also stayed.

Yep, I'll third the free spirit, definately beats the others hands down.
We used to stay there on every trip to town when we lived in the top end

Cheers

we travelled all of 2010 and was on a Budget so we stayed at Robbie Robbins Reserve, it was a horse show ground and you can see it on the main road on a corner on the left leading into Darwin, it backs onto the prison where the Infamous Lindy Chamberland was kept but your heaps away from the actual fence that houses prisoners and we didn't actually see any ?, it has a high gate at the entrance and high fencing right around and is very secure, it also had brand new toilets and a washing machine as well, for $15 non pwr but with water and I think $20 pwr, and it didnt matter if there was 4 or 6 of us as long as there was only one van! it was a life saver as the van parks were about $65 for two adults and two kids, so our visit was going to be short but instead we stayed for about two weeks, we loved Darwin and the kids enjoyed the free water park every second day ! LOL!

Cheers John.

Does Robbie Reserve allow campers and tents or is it restricted to vans only?

Hi Bongo,
Actually I think I remember it saying campers and tents were not allowed, I only saw vans, motor homes and a bloke with a truck towing a yacht that he used as a van!
