Both
camp grounds in
Augusta (Turner, and Flinders) are fully booked out for the weekend of 1st - 2nd November this year as its the
Augusta Adventure Race weekend. As David and I are doing the event we are trying to find somewhere for our family to stay. Was happy to
camp to save money (local chalets have bumped their prices up and charging $1000 for 3 night stay). Does anyone have any suggestions where else we might get accommodation on such a busy weekend? We need to be at Race HQ on Sat afternoon, then again at 6am for start on Sunday so don't want to be too far away. Kids can use spectator bus to follow the race around. If camping, we'd have to leave our site fully unattended during the Sunday so security would also be an issue if we had to leave the
campsite setup. Suggestions/ideas please.

The next closest 3 caravan parks i can think of would be westbay caravan park, molloy caravan park and
hamelin bay park. Westbay being the closest to
Augusta, about 10km. I have stayed at Molloy a few times and enjoyed it. Right on the river.

Hi Michelle. We live in
Augusta and have an 8 acre property 5 km's from
Augusta and about 200 mtrs from part of the pushbike section of the race. You are welcome to
free camp on our property. Cheers Rod
