Hi

We have a Jayco swan outback, went away for a few nights we could only use the 12 volt for power. Worked the fist night got up in the morning turned light on and we lost all power. When we got home it will only start now when it is first plugged into main 240v power. When we unplug the power switches over to 12 volt but if we turn it off it wont turn back on again unless we plug back into mains.

Can anyone help us!!

The van battery is NEVER connected to the fridge.
Van battery cuts out at about 10.5 volts. So flat battery would be the answer here.

Sounds very much to me like the battery has died.

Batteries that are on their last legs will rapidly come up to charge and show as fully charged but actually store very little energy.

If you don't have the ability to do it yourself..have your battery tested.

If the battery is over 2 years old, there is a pretty good chance it is due for replacement.....if it is over 5 years old you have done very well and should not feel you have in any way been short changed.

The other possibility is that the charger is not working properly.

cheers

The jayco has a main battery fuse located beside the main control panel check to see if it has blown
