Hi. I have a Holden Rodeo 2004 Turbo diesel. I need to replace the Intercooler as it has a crack in it. It has a very small amount of oil which looks like it has sprayed out. Can I just unbolt the intercooler and put the new one in. Is it that easy or do I need a mechanic to do it. Any help would be great.

might be a stupid question but if you need to ask how to replace it Im guessing your also not sure exactly how it works and what the problem is?
Most TD's get a small amount of oil accumulating in the intake/intercooler, usually coming from the breather.
While yours may be cracked, its more likely just a split hose or loose clamp?
If it is the standard air to air IC, you can just unbolt it and bolt the new one in place, or repair your old one with kneadit maybe?

Thanks for the reply. When you look through the front grill you can see that the cooler has a split in it and that is where the oil has come out. I am pretty sure it is just an air cooler but thought someone could confirm this for me and that I could replace it myself.

The cooler is mounted in the front of the radiator.

You may be able to get it fixed at a radiator shop. They can repair splits in radiator cores, so can't see why they couldn't have a look at your intercooler.

The early RA's had a recall for cracked intercooler's, worth checking with Holden to see if yours was done.
