Gidday, I'm looking for a couple of tradies to help build the stage for the Big Red Bash in July on top of Big Red. The two-day event is set up to raise funds for Diabetes Research. Last year it was a one night concert with
John Williamson and this year
John is back along with a Who's Who of Australian music including James Reyne, Kasey Chambers, Daryl Braithwaite,
Ross Wilson, Joe Camilleri and more.
Last year there was an awesome atmosphere and all the volunteers loved being a part of a pretty unique event on this icon of the
Simpson Desert.

The site on Big Red is 35km west of
Birdsville.
We'll be building the stage on 7&8 July with the concert on the afternoons of 9&10 July and pull it all apart on the 11th. We'll supply the materials and a genny but you'll need your own 4WD and tools. We'll set out "piers" using timber pallets directly onto the sand, then screw the joists down and then 3.6m X 0.9m flooring sheets. Plus some carpet tiles and scaffold over the top for a shade
shelter. We'll arrange a few volunteers (non-tradies) to help you. A couple of carpenters would be ideal but any tradies handy with some basic timber construction would be fine.
You'll need to cover the costs of getting there plus your own meals and accom. You can
camp at Big Red for free if you prefer to stay out there.

moderators please note that I've been in touch with Adele and she's agreed to help promote the event and didn't have a problem with me listing the website. many thanks.
