Hi
I am considering buying a Navman Myescape 11, but have heard some rather disturbing negative feedback about them.
Has anyone had experience with them, or know of someone who has.

I have one with the hema 4 wheel drive tracks on it. No problems. I love it, what negative feedback gave you had?

Thanks Terry
Glad to hear that it is not as bad as some have made out !
On the Dick Smith website about the navman there are two comments / reviews both of which complaine about the battery always having to be re-charged and the gps freezing up.
It was the Hema maps that is the selling point for me, and the fact it is designed for the 4wd community.

I have the previous model Navman with the Hema maps, unlike my Garmin it doesn't completely power off when the ignition is turned off, so if you forget to turn it off this leads to the battery always being flat.
Compared to the Garmin, I find the Navman cheap & nasty with a flimsy windscreen mount.

Jump onto whirlpool or similar forums/facebook and you'll see countless posts on poor performance from Navman.
Read them and and do what you want with the info, maybe bs or not, who knows.

O M G how can Navman stay in the market with reviews like this ?
Some folks have had terrible experiences wih thier GPS's, make me a bit nervous about getting the right one, and not wasting my hard earned money.
Just want a GPS that will look after us in the outback. Not much to ask surely ?
Cheers
