A few months ago I wrote into the forum about a camping ground we were setting up on a cattle station called Lara Station @ Barcaldine. Lara Wetland Camping Ground is now open for campers, it is with sadness to say my niece Jodie's partner Michael did not get to welcome his first camper. Some of you may of heard of a helicopter pilot accident 2 weeks ago, this was Michael. We are trying to keep the Dream Alive, so come and give a visit if you are passing this way, just look for the big Yellow sign 78klm from Blackall or 24 from Barcaldine, Web site will be up and running in another week.Cheers Maisie

Hi Maisie,
Sorry for your sad news. I hope the venture prospers. Too far for a long weekend from Melbourne unfortunately but maybe one day.

Hi Maisie,

Just looking at the map of the area.

Coming down from Barcaldine, are you:

On the left or right of the Hwy?

What is the nearest water to you? Looks like Alice River or Patrick Creek?

Cheers
Tony

Hi Maisie

Can the campground cope with caravans? Will be getting up that way on Sunday 1 June. We are a party of 3 vans - 8 persons for 1 night

Do you have pricing available? And I assume you would be open on 1 June if we want to support the venture.

Alan
