G'day, have done a search and nothing comes up, was wondering if there is a boat hire place in
Nhulunbuy. Have searched the Yellow Pages etc, nothing came up, so thought I would ask the forumites.......... Thanks in advance for any answers.

Hi
John,
I lived in
Nhulunbuy for almost 4 years and don't know of any company that hires out boats. Unfortunately with the refinery shutting down at the moment, many other town facilities are also under threat as the
population is reduced by more than half.
The only other suggestion is to go on a fishing charter

Regards,
Chris

Ken Waugh runs the charter boat business. The hire boat company shut down and the owner has moved on. Like many other people, as a result of the
mine winding back. If you can afford to do a several day stay at Wigram Island (
home of Kens
camp set-up) you will not be disappointed.
Unfortunately at this time of the year the south0easterlies make fishing hard unless you happen to jag a calm day. Wet season (Oct to march) is usually the best time.

Thanks for the reply, wish I did have time to visit
the lodge for a few days, but unfortunatley, don't. Realise the time of year is wrong, but can't change that. Thanks once again.
