Do any EO
forum users know whether any
bush camping is available or permitted anywhere alongside the Burdekin
dam in Qld or is the only option the Caravan Park? There appear to be a few unsealed tracks which end at the
dam perimeter but not sure whether they are private roads. Also we will be towing a 20 ft van.
We like to stay alongside the water, unload the tinny and leave it there where we can keep an eye on it when its not on the water? Many of the other dams we have visited during the past 4 weeks allow this.
regards,
Heather

Heather,
best to call SunWater 13 15 89. They manage the
dam and will give you all the good oil on sites that will suit your needs. I think they do charge, but it isn't very much.

Hi Heather,
Checkout the current info in the following:-

Plenty of red claw when we were there.

Hi Heather, there are signs near the
boat ramp saying no camping and the rest of the area is private property, but van park is fine with good amenities. Cheers Ray

Thanks Ray. That seems to be in conflict with the information in the information in the link in
John's post above...thanks anyway. I will phone Sunwater before we go. Last time we stayed at the van park but it doesn't suit for us to stay there and leave the tinny etc near the
boat ramp.
regards,
Heather

I emailed SunWater and received a reply today telling me that the only camping permitted is at the Caravan Park so Ray is indeed correct.
Thanks everyone who took the time to answer my questions.

Heather
