Been doing some research into the Wiso track formerly known as the
Warrego mine road which runs from Lajamanu to
Tennant Creek in the Northern Territory. I can Only find info 3+years old.
Three of us will be on adventure Motocycles. (we aren't towing camper trailers if you know what if mean)
I'm Busting to do this track but have heard thorn bushes are at plague levels making the track impassable
So I put anyone who knows or done the track is it still do-able? What condition is the track in?

Hi LIA,
I've looked at the maps a few time & reckon that with support you'll be able to get through, I have talked to some locals about this track but no one seems to know anything about it.
I am planning on going out for a look at the end of the season when things quieten down a bit, but you will probably need permits as
well, when I get a chance I'll go & have a talk to the land council about it.

Hi Jeff,
We are planing on doing the track on the 9-10 July. We will call the
Police Station in the morning and also see if we can track down The
Grader driver.
definitely a major lack of info on this track

I'm on advrider as
well, saw your posts there, I'll do some more digging & see what turns up.
July is a bit early for me but I'll be available if you need support.
I will need a desert fix by then!

Hi Jeff, Good to hear you share the ADVrider passion as
well. Your digging would be appreciated as your opinion is probably more reliable and useful than from a
view point of someone that’s tow's a caravan

From a person who has lives out that way and opinion and point of view is not reliable because they tow a caravan, good luck.

Hi Greg, I to also tow a caravan when not riding my adventure bike or working. No offence was intended what so ever. An adventure bike doesn't even notice 12inch corrugations at 100kmh, Someone that solely tows a van would recommend to avoid a 12' corrugated road at all costs. Adventure bike riders live for them.

A number of years ago, read long time ago, this was graded from Tennant to Laj but to my knowledge has not been graded for at least 10 years, quite possibly more.
I was out that way 4 years ago and 3 or 4 vehicles came through from TC. They had a torrid time with bugga all track to follow (possibly not even a scratch) and there vehicles would never be the same again after bush bashing there way through.
There is a fella at Lajamanu by the name of Dan and he works at Wulaign, he may know more as he runs the graders out that way.
Do your homework on this one because if you get stuck it would be a hell of a place to get you out.
Cheers
Greg

Great info Greg, Will see if we can track Dan down. 2011 is the lattest info i can find on this track so its either in a worst state of freshly graded and in better Condition than the Bruce highway!

We went through from TC to L back in 1986. The road was pretty good back then.
