Hi there,
I took advantage of the WA Day long weekend to have a look at some pools marked on the map in between Duri and the
Holland Track.

Area Map
I apologise for the quality of the map, I have just got a new PC and haven't got all my normal maps setup yet properly.
These pools particularly number 1 and 2 are fairly inaccessible. Being in the area a few times over the years I have always wondered what they were like. There are number of other pools also, however did not have time to visit these.
Pool 1 was the best in my opinion, one large pool with other satellite pools nearby. It was adjacent to a small outcrop.

Pool 2 is actually a fresh water lagoon, though a bit muddy.

Pool 2

Pool 2
Pool 3 is on a very small low outcrop no larger than 30 metres across. The main pool had no water but was covered in moss, there was a bit of pooling water though atop
the rock in one spot.

Pool 3
I put these here for general information. I do not expect too many people to visit as the area has other more easily accessible pools of equal quality (perhaps not as rarely visited).
3 items of interest:
1. There is a graded track about 1 kilometre south of pool 3 which basically goes east west between the Duri Road and the Boondi Road.

East West Track
2. I briefly went on the
Holland Track for a couple of hours between the Banker
Mount Day Road and the Duri Road. In this short time I passed going the other way 2 sets of 4WDS, 1 group of 3 and 1 group of 4, and about 15 motor bikes and 1 quad in 3 different groups. Track is ok, bit muddy in some spots.
3. Exercise extreme caution on the woodline track that crosses the lake just south of Boondi. The old ford is in a state of deterioration.
Cheers
Alan

Thanks Alan,
What superb
rock holes you found - very nice. I see the supervisor is keeping an eye on you.
I haven't been in that bit for country, another add to my bucket list.
cheers

Hi Phil - I'm not sure who found them first, probably prospectors from the goldrush though I found no artefacts or inscriptions.
Plenty of others out there for another time!
Cheers

Alan your timing for this trip was absolutely lousy. Now if you had of done it a few weeks before Anzac day then maybe I could have had a look at what you've found. Thanks for sharing.
Excellent looking
rock holes and all the better for the bit of rain the area has had of late.
Cheers Dunc
