G'day all,
Has anyone stayed at the Robbie Robbins reserve lately?
I was wondering what facilities there are and the cost and contacts.
Your collective help would be appreciated.

Hi
Just left
Facilities 1 x
Toilet block and showers (about 6 of each I think in both male & females) 2 x Free washing machines.
1 x
toilet block only situated at the opposite side to the main shower block, 2
toilets in each from memory
Rates are $35 power or $25 unpowered.
Very basic with a little dust as there is a dirt road into and around camps spots.
Plenty of shade but is a little nousy as it is right on the Stuart Highway
About $20 a night cheaper than most, if not all, other caravan parks this close to
Darwin

Hi Shakeejob,
We stayed at Free Spirit in
Darwin in early May at $45 per night. We called into Robbie Robbins Reserve to
check out facilities after viewing it from the Stuart Hway many times.
We actually drove in the wrong
gate towards the rodeo grounds area just beside the
campground. Within 1 min a Landcruiser came roaring up on my blindside and pulled in front of my car. The caretaker abused me and told me to get out as I was in the wrong area. She also added that there was no tent camping (we had the roof top camper on the ute). We explained that we had the van at a park down the road. She may have been doing her job as caretaker/security but her public relation skills were pitiful. We left without being allowed to drive into the
camp area to inspect/ask questions to the vanners. Cost was $35 per night powered site.

Thanks to all for the heads up, its much appreciated.
When you look at the prices of the commercial parks in
Darwin this looks like a viable option.

A recent post on another
forum has pointed out that this
campsite is full at present, and that bookings are not taken.
