Heading off shortly on our Western QLD trip and would like to know if there are any regulations re taking fresh fruit & veg into QLD. We will be entering QLD at
Hungerford and heading to
Thargomindah &
Windorah. Don't want a repeat of last years trip through S.A. when we lost the lot at the Vic border.
Cheers,

Hi Allan,
Most domestic vegetables are OK except bananas, honey and sugarcane.
But
this table will give you the complete picture.

Always best to
check with the Quarantine Department rather than rely on second hand information.

But, as we found out at the NSW/
SA border a while back, the officers on the
check point don't accept the web printed advice (even though it is highly likely to be more up-to-date than the printed one) and referred us to the printed brochure that they gave us.
As it happened, it had EXACTLY the same information as we had printed form the web a couple days earlier, but they were absolutely NOT interested in our printed version.

John, I'm confused.
Why would the officers be interested in your web printout if it were exactly the same as their printed brochure? (Which is what I would expect)
How do you "
check with the Quarantine Department" for pre-trip information by means other than the official Quarantine Dept website?
Do you completely ignore that source just because it may differ slightly from the officer's information?
If you have a better method, please share it with us.
