Both the Simpson Desert Conservation Park in South Australia and the Simpson Desert National Park in Queensland are "no go" areas for dog (read "pets"). This information is freely available on the web.

Enjoy the Simpson desert - don't spoil it.

Are there any tracks that are dog friendly across the Simpson or do all the tracks take in national parks

Hi Tesa, If you can prove that you have to take the dog for medical reasons or if it is a guide dog, parks SA will issue a permit for the time you are in the park, they do check the permits so honesty is a must.animal must always be on leash and kept near the camp. Keith
