Just got back from a great trip across the Simpson WAA line.
We were going is the same direction (West) as a group of 5 vehicles as part of a Ford
test for a new vehicle, presumably the Territory replacement. There were 3 LHD vehicles in camouflage that looked like the US Ford Explorer along with a support vehicle and a Prado.
While the group would not say much, they did confirm that two of the vehicles were diesel and the Prado was along for comparisons. Looks like Ford are set to enter the wagon 4wd market again.

It would probably be the Everest.....
Ranger clone.....and not a replacement for the Territory...although I think the sales from it WILL kill off the Territory..
Pity you didn't have pics ??

There's been a vehicle crusing around the
Geelong area, could only be classed as current model
ranger front end, with a territory rear end, almost a cut and shut job! not really like the everest at all.

Maybe the Prado was so they had something which would make it
home safely from
the desert. Sort of "in case of snake bite".

saw these vehicles at Innaminka on Sunday 29th
they had to wait for a mate amd I to move our vehicles to get to bowsers and we were at first a bit taken back when we realised the driver was waving from the LH
seat.
very
well camoflagued only the oval depression in the front grill at first indication . the give away was
Ranger carrying the spare gerry cans.
cheers
Howard
