Has anyone put a 6.6Lt Duramax V8 in their 80 Series Cruiser ? If so who did the conversion, what did it cost & are you happy with it ?

All replies appreciated.

Lloyd
If you look on 4WDAction Forum there is a whole section devoted to people who have fitted those engines to 80 series, Troopies and Patrols too.

Possibly more such events there for you to research.

I recently got a quote to put one in my 105 series Cruiser with an Allison auto, and the $50k mentioned above is pretty much the same figure I was quoted for drive in drive out price.

Was this second hand running engine or recond?

Cheers

secondhand and some tests done to check it's condition before install (i can't recall exactly what they were off the top of my head at the moment though), but pot luck really at the end of the day as to how long it'd last really.
klms on the motor varied as to what you might get, the numbers i was being told weren't exactly super low klms in my book, but not what you'd call high klms either.

Got quoted 42k a couple of years ago different options out there though see a guy has done a cummins 6.7 transplant into a 105. Went the 6.5 optimiser myself the newer high output 6.5 peninsular have some good figures.
