WMS,
We just came through there arriving at Normanton on Tuesday towing a 19ft van with Pajero. No trouble at all. Water over crossings are low. Plenty of good camping spots.

Mike,
The road from Normanton to Burketown is excellent. Camped at Leichardt River. Isolated camp sites just before rhs and rhs after crossing. Don't camp with others on crossing. Road crew fill up water tanks from river at 6.30am.
We camped at Robinson River, Burketown side, rhs. Went for a swim in shallow clear water hole at crossing. Camped at Westmoreland Stn crossing and just took our time. Good camp sites everywhere.
Road to Borrooloola from Burketown is good. Bit ordinary in places but you have to expect that.
Camped at King Ash Bay. Better than Borrooloola. Good social gatherings at the bar at night. Good meals. GR8.
I carried 40L extra of fuel but only put in 20L on the Borrooloola -Burketown run. Got there with fuel light on. Hells Gate is now open and selling fuel.

Make sure you don't miss King Ash Bay. Top spot and cheap fuel (comp to elsewhere in the area).

As said by others .. no prob with the road.
