Hell yeah uppy :)
Some might say it'll perhaps wear it out faster, but maybe not running for extended periods will also cause problems.

I'm sure you'd be fine either way for periods of time.
I wonder what most fridge makers recommend ?
That would be interesting.

My mate runs his Waeco at home all the time as a beer fridge, when not on trips, which is most of the year.
I've run mine when new at home for a month before fitting to the vehicle.

I suppose most people don't runs them in their 4WDs when not on trips, but I can see many using them for a home beer fridge, or extra freezer space, etc.
Mine's off now, just clean it out and leave it ajar to stop it getting those fridge odors.

lots of people run thier portable DC fridges 24/7/365, and the good ones last for ages.

My brother runs he Engel continuoulsy and has done for decades.
Plenty of people who live aboard boats a fridge like you have is their only fridge.

With the build quality of current domestic frdges, in particular cheap nasty bar fridges.....ya portable DC fridge is probably a better option all round.

better insulated
more efficient
better built.

cheers

It will be fine only thing is if it's a fridge/ freezer combo you might have to defrost it out occasionally our 47 ltr Evakool fridge/freezer would need defrosting after 2-3 months on some occasions depending on how often it's opened.

Should be fine. I have a Waeco CFX, which is approaching 3 years old, and has been running in the car 24/7 since new. No problems yet.

My 25 year old engel has never been turned off for more than a week!
It is better to be running than not!

Cheers
