G'day Jeff,
we're heading up the in September.
We've heard nothing but good reports about the place - the scenery, fishing, camping and people.
Can't wait.
Steve

We're going to be there from about the 11th to 19th of September.
We won't be back to Mt Isa until the end of the following week, so it might be a struggle to give
feedback before then. It'd be too late anyway.
It's going to be awesome. Bring on the humidity. At least I won't be laying blocks in it, eh?
Have fun,
Steve

Haven't been there, but being from
Darwin it will be a little on the warm and humid side (build up). If that's ok for you, you will love it. Enjoy !!

Hi Jeff, The track from
Cape Crawford will be ok but the 30km driveway will be a bit how you going. The fishing is great at that time of year and the track to the fishing
camp will be
well worn. Hope you have a great time.
I will be dropping in to Tennant Creek next year on the way to Lorella
Cheers Andy (
Lorella Springs Caretaker)

The road from
Roper Bar will have some bull dust holes from
Roper Bar to
Towns River. After that it will be ok some rough
places but not to bad as caravans use this track you should have no problems. I have travelled this road many times (Dry and Wet) with no problems at all, and carry a basic set of tools, 2 spares and a set of maxtracks.
Nice camping at
towns river as
well, fish off the banks for a barra

G'day Andy,
Sorry to hijack this post, but I've just seen your custom canopy, looks great. Would you have any photos of the set up as I'm looking to build one for a dual cab.
Cheers,
Mtb

Towns River camping area is worth a few days for fishing , just be aware of the 14' + saltie that lives not far away from the '
boat ramp' ,
last time we were there a
young couple with a couple of pig dogs were camped ,he had been leaving his 10' punt dragged a little way up the bank of an evening after fishing for the day , on the 3rd morning that we were there an almighty scream , 14' big lizard waiting IN the PUNT ……...

G'day Ozrover....i was at
Lorella springs 3 weeks ago and it has to be one of the most welcoming
places iv been to and i wished id more time there, but i had to be in
Cairns for the 19th...but the whole place is one big play ground with gorges and swimming holes and even though i didn't get to do any fishing there was plenty other campers with good catches and while your there you can order fresh bread from the " Crusty Dicks
bakery " or there is a rustic bar and nice meals available....and as for the roads
well id just come from
Broome via the
Gibb river rd and thru the Savannah way so i guess like any outback track there was good bit's and there was rough bit's but all in all it was a great place to visit and im looking forward to getting back.....

Hi Jeff. We were at
Lorella Springs September 2013. We did not fish but saw some good bush scenery also good sand tracks that you
well used too. You may see the
young wild buffalo bull that we saw if you are lucky. The road in was not bad for the bush. While you are in the area it is worthwhile having a look at The
Southern Lost City.If you go have a good trip.
