Have you checked with a multimeter, the battery voltage and that there is no rise in voltage when the charger is connected and ON.
Perhaps there is a fault and the charger is actually able to charge but some other problem exists.
Merely replacing the charger may not solve the problem unless you first know it is the charger at fault.
Fuses, wiring, battery not functional or power to charger not switches on?

The charger is part of the converter which is suppost to charge the battery when the van is plugged into 240 v
That's all I know about it

If the battery has some charge and will run interior lights ie globe type, you may be able to switch one on and then make sure the power to the van is ok and if the internal fuses/circuit breakers are OK ie, in ON position.
That
check may restore power to the unit and it will brighten the lights when operating.
