Louth is a wonderful town with a community of people who will give you a warm country welcome when visiting. We have visited numerous times in recent years, and joined the community for an ANZAC Day Service in April this year.

More recently in July we camped by the banks of the Darling River, just across the bridge from Shindy’s Inn which is owned and run by Dave and Cath Marett.

If you are visiting Louth either for the picnic races coming up in a couple of weeks, or the ExplorOz National Gathering being held at Trilby Station in September, be sure to drop into Shindy’s Pub and arrange with Dave to take you to see the Mary Matthew’s Monument “glow” at sunset.

I have written about this in a recent blog, Love in the Outback An Ethereal Experience.

Enjoy,

G'day Landy,

We were in Louth this time last year, and spent a sun set in front of Mary's Monument, a great Monument, and a great love story.

Then went to "Shindy's" for an evening meal, as usual great Outback food and friendly people.

Cheers.
