This time of year, I reckon head up to Woods Point and see some snow. There's plenty of side tracks for some 4wding if you're keen.

Victoria is a great place for 4wd touring. We did this one in january a few years ago..

Davis Plain Drive

The High Country is perfect in summer (unless there are bush fires of course).
Personal favourites are the Pinnacle Fire Tower on top of Billy Goat's Bluff, Mt Blue Rag Lookout, Mt Pinnibar and the camping at Talbotville or Tom Groggin (but that's just across the border). There are too many really to list.
The main tracks are pretty easy in fine weather, the views are great and the camping first class. Just tell everyone else to stay home before you go. :-)

I really enjoy the Pyrenees area around Avoca..... good camping spots, nice drives, good food and drink and plenty of off roading from mild to hard core.

We find this area caters for everyone.
