We tried to head north from Daly R last year but it was closed and we couldn't get any sense out of the NP ppl. They said they had no idea if/when it would open and basically couldn't give a rat's arze ... quite unhelpful.

The track is open. You can either do it from the
Daly River road or from the
Sandy Creek turnoff in
Litchfield Park. Had some friends do it last weekend and apart from a coming across a drowned Great Wall on the Reynolds
River Crossing there were no problems.
