Guy
I am looking for a new turbo for my Nissan GU 2.8 litre diesel.
Mine blew up a few days ago at the end of s serious climb.
I live in
Brisbane but I am looking anywhere in Australia even as far as
Perth.
If anyone has any idea where to find a new turbo at a reasonable price. please reply to this post-
Nissan want $2000-00 for a new one.
I think this is a bit pricy.

Tried any of the aftermarket companies like DTS, Denco, etc?? Whole turbo kit is less.
You can have turbos rebuilt, or are the 2.8 ones unrebuildable?

Hey Truckster where can you get a whole turbo kit for less than $2000? I would like to get one and all of the prices that I have been quoted are 2700-3200.

I'd certainly be looking at an aftermarket jobbie; not a Nissan one. In fact I have a 4.2t/d GU and know another bloke with the same who decided to get a bigger aftermarket turbo fitted rather than dicking around trying to get more neddies out of the stocker...........worked
well for him, but not sure how much it cost him. Maybe you could get onto one of those aftermarket companies like Denco or DTS and see if they've got any hairdryers off a 4.2 model where the owner has upgraded?
Cheers,
Roachie

Gidday Guy,I bought a 2.8 (1998) at the
gold coast recently and got 468 k up the road when the turbo blew (you should have seen the smoke).I tried every where to get a turbo and then remembered TURBO REPAIRS In Mackay where I live.A phone call resulted in a replacement turbo being put on a over-night bus arriving early next morning.(A word of warning there are 2 types of turbo for the 2.8.)It cost me $1000 for the turbo plus fitting. The people at TURBO REPAIRS went out of their way to help me and I could not had any better service. The phone number is 0749523755.Just mention the turbo they sent to GINGIN.
Ihope this has been of some help to you
