Light, and flexible so that it is easy to fold - especially with the small velcro tabs - with a map inside and then more compact and easier to carry whilst 'thumbing' where you are on the map. Similar fold down seal versions split too easily - I have several that have done this! Short neck strap works well. Using the map case last weekend on a two day off track hike proved how useful and easy to use it is. A good product.
