just a heads up that this annual event will start from Purni Bore next Tuesday morning 30 Sept and follow the Rig road across the desert, turn right down the Warburton then back up the Inner Track to Birdsville ,finishing on Sat 4 October.

these keen athletes are riding push bikes albeit with wider tyres 130 km per day so anyone out in the desert that week should keep an eye out. Please give them plenty of space if you approach a rider.

I will be playing waterboy again this year so If you see a 79 series labeled waterstop 3 stop and say goodday.
unfortunately the date clash means I cannot makethis years National Gathering at Trilby but hope all those that do attend have a great time.
cheers

Good on you. Our neighbours' son is doing this again this year. I believe it will be his third and this year both parents will accompany him. Unbelievable stamina from the.

Good onya Howard, I know from experience how welcome those water stops are. (rider #20 2001) and the event would never run without the great volunteers who make the effort to be out there so that the riders (stupid/insane) can achieve their goals.

Hi Richard,
good to hear from you.
22 riders this year and a 100 % increase in female representation .
up to 2.
with the eastern end of rig road having been graded and using different route I think it will be easier for the riders than last year.
cheers
Howard
