Check out the Exploroz Inside Track Trek Note

Click on the Map tab and click on the X looking icon at the point you want and all will be revealed.

I was heading south from Birdsville back in June this year and asked for direction to the Birdsville track. I was unintentionally given direction to the inside track which ended badly. I becam e bogged about 3/4 of the way down and ended being stuck for the night. Peter from the Birdsville servo came and pulled me out at a cost. Not sure if it is still closed and unmarked as such. I would advise asking at the servo or police station for updated road conditions.

Don't have the coordinates as I used a Hema Navigator and was easy to find. I don't remember it being signposted at the southern end but was at the northern end. I travelled it after the Birdsville Races, (8/9/14) and was in great condition. The last 5 klms (southern end) was full of gibber stones. They were rough but took that part slow. The rest of the track was better than the main. It was dry. Numerous people at Birdsville were complaining about punctures on the main track and mainly towards Birdsville end. The GPS did differ from the track along it in various parts and at one intersection I did get the paper map out and double check but found it a good, easy and enjoyable drive.
