Hi mate

People will need more info than that mate, is it a WinCE or Android etc...There should be a "help"menu then scroll to "about", it should tell you there..

Cheers

As Swaggie said,

Depends on operating system, WindowsCE 6 can run OzExplorer with HEMA, EOTopo or Topo maps , Android can use Memory Maps or OzExplorer with HEMA, EOTopo or Topo maps. or Mud Maps for Android.

The android part is easier than the WindowsCE 6, but there are some smart people on here who can help.

Good luck.

I think you will find that unless it is specifically specified in the manual, you won't be able to add ozi style maps.

Most factory GPS are based on Windows CE but have a boot loader that does not allow you to get to the operating system. All it does is start, boot and load the map program which is vector based.

The slot is generally for map updates for the existing map program only.

I hope I am wrong but most manufacturers don't like open systems.

Thanks would be good to try one but don't want to buy a map and find it wont work, I might have to buy another gps just for my off road maps which just seems ridiculous. The Oztopo maps where recommended buy a mate and a Garmin Nuvi gps.
Anyone using Oztopo maps?

Garmin is an old locked in proprietary system with only 1 - 2 half decent off road maps at best.

Do you have an Iphone or Android, or a small tablet? By far the best map is an android tablet.

Get Memory Maps or Oziexplorer. And android 7" tablet will be cheaper, larger, do more maps, and do about 800,000 more things and a garmin.

If you have an Android phone get memory Maps for free. Then download the free 250K map off their website ( instructions on their website).

This map is the same data as the Garmin one but with 5 - 10 times as much detail. Then try a few paid maps like Hema, Vic topo, NSW tops and even marine maps. They are free for 10 days.
You can do the same on a PC for free or on an Ipad / I phone for 99c.
