Just wondering if anyone would know where I might get an angled grease nipple in
Perth for a GU4 Patrol universal joint. Pretty sure it is an M6 x 0.75mm (very fine thread) It is in a very confined space and it has to be the right one otherwise the grease gun won't attach to the nipple. I have tried the usual
places like Cov's, Veale Auto Parts, Bearing Service. Oh yeah, I can get one from Nissan if I want to pay $175.00 for a complete uni joint, so that isn't going to be happening. Reminds me of the time I went to buy a seal rubber for the air cleaner housing and Nissan said I would have to buy the whole air cleaner housing lid assembly. Pity they don't tell you they don't actually service consumable parts when you buy the car.

blown4by - It's difficult to find grease nipples in small quantities, most crowds want to sell you the full-blown box of 150 nipples, of 10 different type of nipples.
It's also very difficult trying to acquire individual components today, they all want to sell you an "assembly".
Do you know the exact angle and the dimensions of the nipple?
I don't know where in
Perth you're located, but I have multiple boxes of the old GJ boxes of grease nipples - I might have a couple of the right ones if you can post a
pic showing dimensions, angle and overall height.
Alternatively, you could try Agparts Warehouse at 12 Runyon Rd Midvale.

Cheers, Ron.

when looking for anything like this, your best bet is a good bolt
shop or engineering supplies.......realy if you fiddle arround in the workshop a bit....you need to find a good bolt
shop and make friends down there.
they will have all those things.....they will have baught the box of 267 different grease nipples or whatever....and mostly when you buy a single item like that you are not paying for the item but the fact they have one and the labour for the bloke to get it from the shelf and give it to you.
M6 grease nipples are pretty common on japanese vehicles.
If you are doing your own servicing, it is worth having spare grease nipples on hand as they do fail for varous reasons.
I baught a bag of 20 straight and another bag of 20 angled of a reputable brand.....they cost me less that it would to stop what I am doing and drive to the bolt
shop and back.
Another thing too.
If you have a failed weirdo grease nipple.....its worth taking a close look at it.....it may in fact be a standard grease nipple on some sort of adaptor.......get the two appart and you can just replace the standard nipple......ahh but getting the two appart?
cheers
