Hi just letting the many visitors to this area that in to days local Broken Hill newspaper has got a story that.

Tiboobura and Packsadle has been put on a list of black spots needing urgent attention to improve service.

There are many places on this list but with luck they will be picked and upgrades can start as soon as 2015 , there is some sort of selection process that has to be done I am not sure what.

Great news to see many be they are starting to realize how many places out of the big citys that have mobil coverage problems

but i would not pack the sat phone or HF sets away just yet may wait for a few year s

Over 600 spots have been identified....Wait in line I guess..

Just another nail in the coffin of "getting away from it all".

Its a miracle that life can actually exist where there is no mobile reception..

Mobile phones for me are just in case of break down or I see or have a accident, it is not used that much

I for one could live with out one but in case of a emergency it is handy

I agree Bigfish
Every time one of my regular outback haunts gets phone reception a little bit of me dies
I was pretty disappointed that the road from Broken Hill to Tibooburra is now sealed as well
