Hi all
Just wondering if anyone has been out to Ranken Store, if so what is there and is it worth the drive out there.
Thanks Hayd & Jude

Not much there, just a big set of yards and the old store usually used as a workers camp now..if you enjoy driving about and have a sense of history ??? I have driven by there a few times carting cattle..tried to put up a couple of photos but the "system" defeats my old brain..

What Jack said, Hayd 'n Jude.

Been through there about half dozen times, and called in there for a look during '80's when we followed the South Barkly stock route across to Alroy Downs.

Would have been a busy spot during the droving days, with mobs arriving regularly.

Camped on the veranda of the store for the night a few years ago. Had a good yarn and a cuppa with the bloke who does the bore run out there.
