Hey there,
Im interested in people thoughts on what tyre they'd prefer. 285/75 or 33x12.5. the extra width looks the part but is it necessary?

There is this thing called "over tyred" and it can affect vehicle stability and handling....... but to many 4x4ers the "look Good" factor usually outweighs the "function and ability".

The other thing is that the 285s will be a standard metric light truck tyre, the 33s are a flotation tyre, the shape and behaviour of the tyres will be different.

depending on the manufacturer the 33s may not have the load rating....flofation tyres in general have lower load carrying capacity for the size of tyre compared to standard light trucks.

cheers
