Hi im removing the gear lever housing on my hzj75 landcruiser because the pins are shagged and need replacing.
Have removed all bolts but this thing is still attached and cant figure out how to remove it? Has it got something to do with reverse?

That's the 5th gear shift lever you've circled, ;)
have you removed it's locking bolt so it will slide off with the cover housing?
You will need to break free the RTV sealant as
well, carefully pry apart.
And don't use silicone to reassemble, it eats into the alloy.
Cheers

Cheers for the reply, after all that I realised you cant remove the cover housing while the box is in the vehicle as it wont clear the forks :( bit annoying as I have done this job on a hilux before and it was really simple.
cheers

Seem to recall replacing the pins in situ once, Hallam.
But not sure if the HZJ turret sits up high enough to do this easily, with the smaller removable inspection plate of that model. The old HJ45's had a plate almost 3/4's size of the hump, so made this job much easier.
Of course, doing it in situ means one must pack a single rag, or similar into
the neck, so none of the pins go down there. :-)
